The Price Reflects The Worth

“Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’”  (Matt. 27:45-46)

This was the scene as Jesus was laying His life down and God was expressing the cost of His love to the world. It was not pretty. Just days earlier they had celebrated Jesus with palm branches laid at His feet. But in this moment the atmosphere had radically changed. It had become riotous, full of anxiety and murder.

How could this day be labeled “Good Friday?”  Simply put, because we know the rest of the story. So often we are puzzled by the “process” and forget the purpose for the process.

While this would not have been our way to express our devotion and commitment to another, or to the world, it was God’s way. He gave His only Son so that He would reap many sons and daughters. It was His choice, His plan, His price, and our opportunity.

The price of something always reflects its worth. While some may argue that they do not feel they are “worth” the price God paid for them, God KNOWS each person’s true worth. The person looking back in the mirror, to God, is worthy of the price He paid.

No matter where you are in life, or what you have done, never forget how very much He Loves you. He has a perfect plan for your life that began at the cross. God Bless You, and as always, He Is Faithful!!
